Indian Army Day

 Army Day is celebrated with fervor on 15th January every year. Lieutenant General of India, K.M. Respect is being paid to Karippa (Kodedera Madappa Karippa), who was the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army. It is celebrated every year by hosting an army parade at the Army Command headquarters and in the national capital, including several military shows.




Today will be celebrated in the national capital as the 70th Indian Army Day.

Why celebrate Indian Army Day?


Tributes and salutes are paid to the brave and valiant Indian soldiers who have sacrificed their lives for the protection of the country. Indian Army General Kodandera Madappa succeeded in making Kariyappa British Army General Roy Busher and became the first Commander-in-Chief of Independent India.



The Indian Army is always ready to fight on the Indian border as well as in all difficult times with natural disasters. They bravely face all challenges and difficulties to save nations and peoples.



Celebration of Indian Army Day



The Indian Army plays a great and big role during the disaster situations of the country as they are dedicated to be a war winning team. It was decided to celebrate the day as Army Day in India to start paying homage to the fallen Indian soldiers at "Amar Jawan Jyoti" at India Gate in New Delhi.



After paying tribute, an excellent parade is held in the Indian Army, including a military show to showcase the latest technology and achievements. Bravery awards including unit certificates and army medals are distributed on this great occasion. In Army Day celebrations in Jammu and Kashmir, the soldiers of the Army receive bravery and prestigious service awards (Army Medals, World Service Medals, etc.) for their service. This day has been commemorated with courage and to remind the brave Indian soldiers while defending their nation.
